These are two Smoothie Button Down Ties we found in a thrift store. These ties where produced in Baltimore.
A Oct 4, 1937 Life Magazine ad for the Smoothie Tie promised " THE NEWEST WRINKLE IN TIES IS NO WRINKLES AT ALL!"
By March 31, 1958 the patent for the Smoothie Button Down Tie was celebrated in a Life Magazine ad. The ad stated: "It's the Smart, Modern Way to keep your tie in place."
